I read Lajja. Her account of Oppression of religious minorities is much milder compared to the contempt poured by media on Hindus in this country. Hindus were 15 percent of the population in 1970s. Now reduced to 04 percent or less. Most of them are killed or forcibly converted in to Islam. I visited Dakeswari temple in Dhaka (named after Dakeswari) first time in 1994. This is the most important temple for Hindus in Bengal. It was a big temple then with lot of space. By 2001 all that space if occupied now, approach to the temple made very difficult. Hindus who go to the temple are teased by way siders and as a result Hindu woman stopped going there. After Babri (not even a mosque) structure demolished, thousands of small and big temples were demolished in Bangladesh. As we still cry over Babri here, temples are demolished every day in Bangladesh and Pakisthan. Taslima is targeted mainly for highlighting the plight of Hindus. See what happened to her?
Its time pseudo secularists are shouted down to assert the rights for all but not just for minorities.
