Gujarat & Modi...
by Ashok Abraham on Nov 27, 2007 02:55 PM

Modi will win and should win, because he has taken Gujarat towards progress in 5 years. This is much more than what Congress did all the while they were in power. Forget Godhra, forget the riots that followed, forget Modi's attitude towards Muslims. If one were to look only at those riots, we need to compare with all the riots that happened since independence, 99% of which happened when Congress was in power and did nothing. What has Congress given towards Muslims except fake sympathy and pseudo support? Most Muslims in India live in UP, Bihar, Gujarat, W.Bengal, Kerala & Maharashtra, which have been ruled by so called "secular" parties most of the time. Yet, most Muslims remain in deep shit and abandoned by these false parties. At least, Modi does not hide behind "secular" screens. His single minded pursuit of development has surely taken Gujarat forward and one must give credit where it is due. Credit him for his development mantra, his no-nonsense approach to terrorism, his firm approach towards Gujarat's problems. If he is judged only by Godhra riots, then Congress and Marxists are surely the worst among the bad. Modi did not have thousands of Sikhs raped, looted, set on fire and murdered. Modi was not responsible for Nandigram. Modi was not responsible for the problems in Punjab & Kashmir. Among today's politicians, he seems the most straight forward and dynamic, irrespective of who likes him or not. Good for Gujarat that they have a guy like him.
