Taslima Nasreen - Persona non-grata
by jamsheed abumohammed on Nov 25, 2007 08:11 AM

Taslima Nasreen was welcomed by West Bengal Government and treated as a State Guest by Rajestan Government. Ironically, former was run by CPM and the latter by BJP. Both have sudden love for this lady not because she needs help but because she wrote something against Islam. Similarly, Salman Rushdie, another big muslim hater found refuge in Britain and elsewhere after he wrote his infamous "Satanic Verses" a book against Islam. These unislamic persons are welcomed in India. Why so much rush to help Taslima. If she has done something wrong let her face the justice in her own land. Why give refuge to such people. It does no good to the image of India, but it will carry negative tidings for all the muslim world that anybody who writes against Islam is welcomed in India. Budha and Rajascindia beware of this danger. Dont let your antagonism against Islam and muslim ruin the India's secular image abroad, particularly in the Muslim World, where in gulf many of our Indians are earning their bread and butter. These acts should not endanger our brothers working in the gulf countries. Let India carry a message of peace and love for Islam and muslims. These blashphemy writers have no place in the country. Let them write in their own land and face the music, why come to India and create all sorts of problems for already problem infested areas. Indian government will do well to advise these State Governments to keep the Indian image clean.
