its a matter of values
by ajit achuthan on Nov 24, 2007 08:04 PM

West Bengal government made a grave mistake by sending Taslima out. They failed in upholding one of the values that make a country great and unique, the "freedom on expression". As a muslim or hindu or christian believer has the right to question the thoughts of non-believer, a non-believer has the right to question the tenets of religion. If a believer thinks that making a derogatory comment make their religion loose its esteem, then what kind of religion is it?
By bending their knees to the religious group (religious people are fundamentalist to a certain extent) as a country, we are making a grave mistake, similar to a mistake we did in the begining of Kashmir terrorism, letting terrorists free in exchange of the daugther of a cabinet minister..Now, we know how much we payed the price for it..
