Moghuls baring Akbar, to some extent Jehangir and Dara (Auranzeb's brother) tried their level best to convert India into a Islamic country. I have been very generous to include Jehangir in the list because he did not destroy any temples. But he had banned the construction of new temples or repair of old ones.
Aurangzeb was mainly responsible for destruction holy sites of Hinduism. If you go to Varnasi you will see Gyan Vapi mosque at a place where once vishwanath temple stood.
For your information during the Gujarat riots 750 muslims died and they have not been wiped out of gujarat. In the same riots 250 hindus also died. Can you please tell me what started the riots.
