Had the demography of Nadigram been different....
by Vishvaksenah E on Nov 21, 2007 07:51 PM

Mr.Tarun Vijay's column is illuminating and very informative.
I do compliment him for this well researched essay.
Kudos to Rediff for publishing it .

I am indeed saddened by the death of innocent and poor villagers.

But just a stray thought.
If the demography of the village had been different... would our worthy secular politicians bother to visit the village.Would there have been any reaction on the streets of Kolkatta?

Lakhs of innocent people were forcibly removed from Kashmnir. Has there been any significant reaction by the honourable members of parliament , intellectuals, columnists and other worthies.
Hence the moral of the incident is that in Bapuji's country, anything can be done to one particular community and nobody will bother about it.
But if it were to happen to some other community all hell would break loose.

Long live secularism!
Long live the legacy of Bapuji!
