Communism-a failed doctrine.
by ravi prakash on Nov 21, 2007 12:02 PM

Mr Vijay's article brings out the violent face of Communism. Most of the mass killings have been documented but sadly not accepted as such.
Except for Hitler's mass extermination of the Jews the other mass killings have been very conviniently covered up. But in the case of Stalin, Mao and Pol Pot their role in ordering mass executions have come out openly after a lapse of a long time. The Communist Rulers term this barbarity as mistake.
Everywhere Communism has seized power after bloodshed, and mass killings in the name of the Working Class.
The greater tragedy has been the failure of its economic model of Centralised economy. Besides ensuring a monopoly of state power, this model had wrought untold misery and deprivation among the working classes. The bread riots in Russia, the malaise of drunkeness, the underground bandit gangs have all taken a gradual toll of the economy. On the other hand, missiles, nuclear bombs, highly sophisticated devices to track the spies and the enemies of the state have further made it possible to keep the people under state control; surprisingly,in the name of the poor and dispossessed people.
The humanitarian face of the left ideology has been a mask all along. It is time the people of India saw the alternative face of this ideology for whatever its worth and say no to all kinds of barbarism in the name of development.
