West Bengal lags behind western and southern India
by Rakesh on Nov 17, 2007 12:09 AM

Bengali communists love to rant about evils of capitalism, casteism, and communalism, but they HAVE FAILED to uplift the poor of their state.
While Mumbai and Delhi get a lot of flak for poverty, and dirtiness, even today, Kolkata remains infested with dirty slums, INSPITE OF THE MUCH VAUNTED COMMUNISM.

Communists have failed to protect the poor, as Nandigram demonstrates. They have failed to check the growth of Maoists. They are holding India back by obstructing nuclear energy deal, and by opposing privatization.
