In the article you have mentioned the word "intellectuals."the persons who deserve to be intellectuals are not mentioned.
history is replete with cases where intellectuals owed their loyalty to the ruling class.
We have chanakya who was an intellectual inChandra Gupta court.even harsavardhan had a number of intellectuals to guide him .Akbar also had Birbal as an intellectuals.These intellectuals were patronised by the respective kings which helped them to meet their daily expenses.These intellectuals of Bengal had a alligiance to the ruling left front but since their intellectual propreity is not taken care of by the ruling left front their very own existence is now being threatened .The protest march in kolkata is the outcome of such insecurity .
