BJP in Karnataka
by jamsheed abumohammed on Nov 09, 2007 02:20 PM

It is very unfortunate for South India particularly Karnataka, the BJP is all set to rule the peaceful southern state. The real BJP will be exposed in the days to come. Whether they have learnt a lesson from the past and whether they will create an atmosphere of amity among all the religious group will be seen in the days to come. Lets wait and watch the development. The Gowdas have done a great disservice to the State by siding with the communal party thereby risking their credentials as a secular party. They should have gone to poll instead of supporting the BJP if they were true to their words. Both these parties public speakers said many things against each other but finally self interest prevailed over the national and secular interest. Now that it has been done, except watching on the sideline we cant do much about it. Lets hope the secular forces will join together to defeat the communal forces in the next elections exposing the chinks in the armoury of the present BJP-JD(S) coalition. All talks of secularism are hollow and meant to pacify the minorities who now feel insecure. It is for Congress and other secular parties to come together and protect the interest of the minorities when need arises. Safronization of Karnataka may be prevented if Congress and other parties joined together to put up a very strong front in the next elections. The peaceful south should not go the way of Gujarat. Is another Modi is in making in South, time alone will tell.
