Brahmin is by birth not by choice as you say. Even if it is, one should not have to change ones lifestyle to be treated the same as other beleivers. My point is that all Hindus should be treated the same regardless of whether they follow the Brahmin way of life or not. I disagree with Dalit Panther on the Brahmin issue. Brahmins may have been responsible for the caste system but currently Brahmins are the most progressive of all Hindu castes. He should not forget that Kerela and Bengal are progressive because of Brahmins. Nowadays, the business castes run the show not Brahmins. They have a lot to gain by creating the "Hindutva" concept and dominating the religion.
