Gen.Mush and US double speak.
by jamsheed abumohammed on Nov 08, 2007 05:20 AM

Appearing before the Foregin Affairs Committee, Govt rep. says one thing and the Senators says the other. Nobody is seeing eye to eye in the matter whether Gen. Mush was right or wrong. Condoleesa Rice says aid to Pak is under reveiw but American people's interest is prime. She says that aid to Pakistan is linked with so many things but to protect the American people. That means review is only for the name sake and it will continue. Secondly, President Bush says Gen. is indispensable ally in the fight against terrorism. That means his continauce and actions have the backing of the US. What they are speaking out now in public is for public consumption and fear of backlash from democracy lovers. Whatever may be the situation back in Pak that necessitated Emergency, Gen. Mush is certainly there to protect not Pak people but his job. Such a selfish General will meet the fate of other military despots we have seen in recent times. Before people throw him out, he must act fast notwithstanding the US support and restore democracy. It is good for him and the people of Pakistan. Or else there will be chaos in the country. He cannot carry one with such hostile atmosphere around. People are not happy, so the lawyers, so the politicians but US. The double speak emerging from the Foreign Affairs department is certainly not in the interest of democracy but to keep their puppet in Pakistan to serve their interest. The US knew that Gen. Mush was key ally to their fight against Laden.
