After all Mr. Musharaf imposed emergency in Pakistan. It was long ago anticipated. Rather there was news a few months ago that Mr. Musharaf was likely to impose emergency in Pakistan. Though at that tie Mr. Musharaf under some pressure bowed down and changed his mind and denied the news of possibility of imposition of emergency.
I am surprised not because Mr. Musharaf imposed emergency in Pakistan but I am surprised that US still treats him as an ally in their fight against terrorism. Mr. Musharaf is himself the kingpin and master of all terrorism . As such the perpetual faith shown by Mr. Bush on Mr Musharaf cast doubts on the integrity of Mr. Bush too.Undoubtedly Mr. Bush is also responsible for the gradual growth of anarchy in Pakistan.
As a matter of fact Mr. MUSHARAF tried to negotiate with Benazir Bhutto and Mr. Nawaz Shariff so that he may continue to remain as President even after general election. Mr. Nawaz Shariff could not come to terms with Nawaz Shariff but Ms Benazair Bhutto agreed to some of his terms only to ensure acquittal of her husband from various charges leveled against him by Musharaf.
When Ms Benazair Bhutto came back to Pakistan after almost a decade Mr. Musharaf could not digest the momentum of crowd gathered in the procession to welcome her.
