Sadly though, its creation was a boon to India

Partition is a painful word. If history decided to part both these countries sixty years back then so be it. The people in general those days were more disciplined, trustworthy and pure in comparison to today. This itself spelled the need to part ways before things would go further sour. Imagine Afghanistan and Iran being our neighbors today (though both are having good relations with India). We would have unimaginable, unsolvable problems at our doorsteps. On the other hand look at what we have achieved as a separate entity. Last 60 years for India by Indians is a shining example of tolerance, sacrifice by a generation, guaranteed good future etc etc. Its an example for others to follow.
