Takkar of Indian Tusker
by Ramesh Nittoor on Nov 04, 2007 09:01 PM

Mr. Bhadrakumar assumes a defeatist tone. We need analytical framework which would enable India to exercise its options to shape the events and improve security climate in the subcontinent. The pre-condition for that is genuine democracy in Pakistan and restoring the supremacy of the Supreme Court to interpret the Constitution.

Particularly US and UK got to get a clear message that any effort to assuage Military rulers and prop military law there would be interpreted as neo-colonial stance. This would put to rest any N-deal and any pretense to common security architecture.

Any overt or covert support to the illegal military establishment would make the Iran angle of US politicians lose all credibility and be treated as a joke by most Indians.

We aspire to be a member of Security Council. A good way to begin is to hold the veto at the ground level. If there is any deviation from democratic values and norms to cater to material interest, let such policy makers be wary of Indian takkar.

There is no need for Indian PM to sing US tune, his last name has an 'H' in it.
