On a holitistic purview, LTTE has projected/placed themselves (by every possible method) as a Sole representative of Tamils. The organisation has also never moved from their original agenda of a separate nation.
For the sake of Tamils (if not for LTTE), the balance should be there in favour of LTTE to negotiate a settlement. This death would be a major blow for LTTE and Tamils whose interest has been hijacked by LTTE. I hope at least now, LTTE come for a negotiated settlement for the larger interest of ethnic Tamils in Srilankans, Indian Tamil migrants and Tamil Muslims.
With civil war getting stopped, Sri Lanka would emerge as a strong contender for major share of FDI along with other developing nation considering that their fundamentals are strong for growth otherwise.
