I think we are also not able to make our position clear.
We can be quite upfront about what we want and hold them responsible for their unfriendly acts listed by you and maybe more. At the same time, we need not antoganise them. We can learn from China, who is playing soft power to the hilt, able to do business with anybody. That they have no qualms with huge Japanese investments is testamount to their practical outlook. We all know, they suffered so much cruelty at the hands of the Japanese, but they have moved on with an eye on the future, with lessons learned. They know, when you are weak you have to blame yourself first, before pointing fingres at others.
We should also realise having a good relationship with USA can benefit us more, as other developed countries will feel more comfortable that way. Anyway, let us not go about creating enemies out of firends, just an extension of our personal lives.
