Maturing of Indian Democracy
by Piyush Bhargava on May 16, 2007 09:07 PM

This is a vote against the Goonda Raj of Mulayam.BJP was perceived to be in cahoots with Mulayam. The people had no other alternative but to vote for Mayawati who was perceived as a person who can put Mulayam in his place.
The people have not voted for Mayawati out of any love for her.Things can change very rapidly. She make a few mistakes and the people will start looking for alternatives. This is a sign of the maturing of the electoratye and the democracy of India. Now the Netas will actually have to work hard for the people of India.
