Election results in Punjab, Maharashtra, Delhi and now Uttar Pradesh are enough confusing for laymen and more so interestingly challenging enough for political analysts. Host of strategists for all National parties who have skilled analysts on their payrolls seem confined to games of arithmetic. They seem to be the top failures in making assessments of Public mood and the feelings at grass root level. They are not able to determine health of Voter mind set. Are Voters in stream of democracy or withdrawing? Strategists seem to be have been lost in their own world of manipulations. And not addressing the primary issue of building democratic society. People are loosing faith in System- and it has become a major issue.
Media too is playing child like win loose game, and not even a decent communicator, presenting plethora of debates without infusing positive sentiments among Politician or other communities of democratic set up. It is high time, Media assumes a constructive role. There is a scope for all positive. And it needs to be understood. Anchors are biased, not able to drive the participants to a logical, constructive viewpoint. Capability of pulling legs seems to be the only area of concern in Journalism.People is fed up with interesting stories and Headlines. Media strategists must understand this phenomenon. Positive and honest communication will sell the most- that must be realised.
Public is responding selectively and relatively with deteriorating enthusiasm in Politics and governing bodies and their deeds. On the other hand politicians across country are behaving more or less in the same fashion, manipulating for staging Come back or maintain somehow. Standards and Code of Ethics, Conduct, Fair Practices have hardly been established that the same seem vanishing from the roots, as is true with winning horses and members of governing bodies. This crisis of integrity has never been this low. Public at large is disinterested in Political upsurge or fall. However, their agenda though is clear, but without a responsible role in that direction. Public is interested in Peace, on violence, facilities and free environment without any law and order problem. Political parties also revolve around this agenda but never deliver; rather their contribution is %u2013ensuring polarized society, wherein they can play the numbers game effectively. Key Result areas remain secondary always.
With decreasing participation by People, ethics at level that need governing by Election Commission like institutions instead of Public making judgments itself is an indication of fragile democracy. One way of looking at these developments can be positive too. We are in transition towards maturity. Hope it is true.
