The consequences of this writ petition will be that the appointment of HD Deve Gouda MLA as Prime Minister should be declared void together with all the decisions taken by his council of ministers between May 1996 to April 1997. So also, the vote cast by Giridhar Gamang MP as Chief Minister of Orissa in Lok Sabha in April 1999 resulting in Vajpayee Govt losing confidence by one vote, then the dissolved Lok Sabha of 1999 would have to be restored. The petition is far fetched, and deserves to be dismissed.
