Five year jail sentence for possession of a pistol is a cruel and unusual punishment.... ramnant and reminiscent of British Raj who devised and dispensed with cruel and harsh punishments for its colonial,subhuman,racially inferior subjects.
Its time that legislators revise Indian Penal Code and repeal draconians laws strangleholding Indian populace.
Let the people breath and bask in the glory of a new dawn.Its long overdue.
I hope the court of appeal ,in the interest of justice would reverse or reduce these sentences.
