Through all the grudging and laboured appreciation he offers Mr. Achuthanandan, Mr. TVR cannot help exclusively highlight the few instances of the culpability of some in the left camp ! Mr TVR carefully has avoided saying anything about the immensely more massive roles persons who belong to or are associated with non left parties have had in Kerala's land scam. Like in the proverbial pot and the kettle story, it is the less culpable who appear to be singularly under the scanner. Mr. TVR also appears to be attempting labouriously to paint the demolition act as something that the Kerala CM is struggling to defend within the ranks of his own party !!! Can Mr. TVR present any reasoning behind such a divination ?? Does he really hope that he will not be noticed in this effort to diminish the role of the party behind the CM ??
More pertinently perhaps, will Mr. TVR venture with his thoughts about the possible ways in which other parties (notably the Congress and the BJP or regional parties like the DMK, AIADMK, PMK which are actually no better than wayside thieves) would have handled a wholescale sabotage of law such as what was happening in the Kerala real estate sector for years ? Will Mr. TVR specifically speculate on what these parties' reactions would have been if one of their ministers had embarked on a mission similar to Mr. Achuthanandan's ??
Again, will Mr. TVR acknowledge that land scams such as those that came to light in Kerala are an all too familiar and inevitable fact of everyday life in the rest of India and that little is ever heard about it as the people have come to accept it as something that has to be lived with or even a phenomenon that in some vulgar way is actually desirable for society ??
