Dear Brother, You are right that many lives were destroyed by oppressors. Believe me brother, these oppressors/terrorist have no religion. No religion teaches killing innocent people, destroying property etc. Islam is a great religion and teaches about a one Almighty who has created us all. He had time and again send many messengers down here with guidance like the torah,bible etc. Offcourse later these guidance were altered by priests etc for their gains. The last messenger of God is Muhammad, to whom was revealed the last and complete guidance "Quran". With this, I invite you to our faith dear Brother. Please make an attempt to understand or know Islam, don't judge it by people who don't follow it.
