moral policing of Art
by jack on May 15, 2007 04:50 AM

Moral policing is essential to ensure that artists don't go beserk in the name of artistic freedom. Artists have so many things in this world to portay to express themselves. Why does everyone (Including the muslim MF Hussain) have to use Hindu Gods and Godesses in the nude to express their artistic inclinations?
I however object to the way the moral police took law into their hands and destroyed the art of Chandramohan. They should have instead organized a peaceful protest against it and take Chandramohan to court. They have no right to enter a university and destroy things.
Maybe this is the only way the artists will learn not to offend religious sensitivities.
