Mahatma Gandhi had once told that India will get real freedom when "our women walk in the middle of the night without fear or danger looming over them". And lo! the days have come and there is a shift in the trend about working in night shift, and we should be rejoicing over it. But fact remains that there are no adequate measures to curb growing crime on women, especially during the night. Law enforcement agencies will have to play a crucial role in bringing safety measures and create a condusive and ambient atmosphere for women to work, to walk safely and express their freedom and will to contribute their mite to the nation.
