RE:RE:DISCRIMINATION!!!
by Karthik M on May 10, 2007 08:51 AM

Mr. Shesh Lak,
I am feeling more confortable after reading your response. Thanks dude. What I was taught in my school is "Unity amidst Difference" - India has different languages, different cultures, different religions - from Kashmir to Kanyakumari - but we are all united, we are Indians. Of course, this was(is) written in TAMIL. But when I see the peoples' opinion here (I have been observing this many days in this discussion), I am totally shocked, and I'm hurt! I could see the only reason is HINDI is not a mandatory subject in TN. But now it is changing...In fact I faced trouble while doing my research in Maharashtra. I realized the importance of Hindi. Further, I could see how a language can influence people. If this is a big issue, I feel at least central govt. should make it mandatory that Hindi should be at least a secondary language at least up to 8th grade. This could be because even our central govt. did not think that that is must for the devpt. of India since we all study in English. Anyways..guys I wish not to discriminate people. I know the value of our contry, and culture etc. being in US.
