Selective focus of media
by Mahesh Jagga on May 03, 2007 11:51 AM

In 2006 - 07, the number of encounters in Uttar Pradesh were 57 (By the way 26 were muslims). Last July Delhi police did an encounter of two muslims belonging to Ghaziabad. Two weeks back there was a custodial death in Haryana.

Whom were these deaths attributed to? They were rightly attributed to some bad cops who gave a go by to judicial process and went for extra judicial activities.

However no one suggested that Mulayam Singh or Shila Dixit are anti muslim or Haryana CM is anti Hindu.

Why is it that out of hundreds of encounters which are done by bad cops in whole of India, only in one case the liability is on the Chief Minister but in all others the buck stops with the police administration??

Selective focus of media is clear in one more case. Nithari is on every channel even today. Why has everyone forgotton about the Maxi cab killings of Gurgaon? These people killed around 35 persons over six months and police had no clue.

Why is that case not vying for TRPs? Because there is a congress government in the state.

If Modi is responsible for this encounter then by same logic, Manmohan Singh and Azad are responsible for all encounters done in J&K by security forces.

Let all three quit and that will be justice and fairplay.
