"Affirmative action" practised in USA & other countries and "caste based reservation"in India have world of difference between them.. . 1.Affirmative action is not based on caste. 2.It is not compulsory..It is upto the discretion of the employers. 3.It is not a fixed quota.. Please understand the difference.. Also our friend Mir alam should read the most recent report by National survey organisation of India, which says that the employment rate among Muslims is similar to that of the Hindu population. India is a country with the greatest magnanimity.If people from minority group are suppressed by the majority people, then none of the people from minority group would not have become big-shots in India. There are numerous examples..People from the minority group like Tata and Bajaj ( who are from Zoroastranism, which is a much less represented group in India than Christianity & Islam ) have never said that they were suppressed by majority people when they were trying to make their progress. One has to learn the Vedas before criticising. this is a basic knowledge that one should have learnt & understood what they are talking about.
