Nothing. Despite all of India's military deficiencies, they are still a lot better than Pakistan. Musharraf himself has admitted that Kargil was another faliure for Pakistan. Of course he has conveniently blamed the whole thing on Nawaz Sharif.
From the Indian point of view the main thing to learn from that debacle is to never get caught sleeping on the job again... and to upgrade our technology in order to avoid turning thousands of Jawans and officers into cannon fodder.
