Your analysis is based on an presumption that CPIM led LF won bigtime (in 2004 national election and in the state election) because of Buddha's industrialization drive.
What proof you have for that? Just because Anandabazar wrote repeatedly doesn;t mean its gospel truth. They have their wheels to grind. Isn;t it?
Trinamool's Vote didn't loose much vote in Urban Areas. Then why CPIM lost so many seats?
That's because CPIM's wholesome use of Gujarat. They painted every wall with Gujarat, and Muslims (mostly urban and some non-urban) who were traditionally voter of Trinamool voted in favor of CPIM for first time.
CPIM did the same thing in Kerala in last election.
But this is blatant communal appeal. IN FACT ELECTION COMMISSION BANNED MANY CPIM VCDS WHICH WERE FULL OF HINDU IMAGERY AND GUJARAT RIOT.
Now Muslims of WB know thanks to Sachar that CPIM takes their vote, but no development/
