Dear engineer... - it seems you do not know the real matter. The farmers are not so well off that they can fight long court battels with the Govt. As soon as their land is taken away they will have to find alternate source of livelihood. Also in most of the cases farmers have not been provided with alternatives in terms of land/money. That's why they fought the pitched battle with their lives. Govt should have identified unfertile land, instead of fertile land.
