RE:Talking Of Separatism
by Jayprasad Nair on Mar 13, 2007 07:39 PM

Just for a clarification... As a keralite i understand the concern of my tamil friends.. But i would like to clarify one point w.r.t MullaPeriyar.. Its not like Kerala doesn't want t give water from there. We are hapy to increase the height of that dam if it was strong enough. That Dan is more than a centruy old and the technique used to build it is obsalete. We have no issues if center can take up a project and build a new dam with increased hight so that TN can get more water. But with existing Dam we have issues. If something happens to the existing Dam, the whole of Cochin will be washed out into Arabian Sea. Do you want a Disaster like that neing a good neighbour. Also for your kind information, as an alternative you should know that Kerala Govt has started releasing extra water from another Dam in Trivandrum District. Mullaperiyar is just politicized. Otherwise whats the problem in building a new one there? Also.. i would appreciate if each one of us realise that the strength in us as a nation is due to unity from Different states we have. Look around you and our enemies just want to see us separated. W.r.t Srilanka.. yes, the solution is to give Srilankan Tamil population a separate state with sepcial status as we have in Kashmir.. India should advice and put pressure on srilanka to accept that. Never ever we should send our troops and do another 'BLUNDER'.
