This "hope" that if Musharraf is ousted from power (one way or another) a stable replacement with the ability to keep a strong leash on the nuclear arsenal is nothing short of a pipe dream. Objectively Pakistan cannot be trusted with nuclear weapons given it's turbulent condition (and history). Frankly, Pakistan going nuclear in the first place is a shining example of complacency based incompetence of Indian intelligence authorities. Of course, the American's aren't too worried about the Pakistani nuclear bomb... they don't live right next to them. I do however think that it is time Indian foreign policy makers pressurized the USA to de-nuclearize Pakistan.
