Good points made by you. I know about Shravan kumar who is know for exemplary love for his parents. Hinduism also talk about the love and respect one should have for their parents. I am sure all the religions talk about the same love and affection.
The main point is, people dont follow that has been taught by their religious book. Instead they follow the meanness and selfishness and once their mind is bankrupted they send their parents to olg age homes.
with all due respect I know few Muslims who have abandoned their parents. This issues is universal and only a good up bringing can overcome such social evils.
