It is incorrect to say that discrimination and resultant denial of equal opportunities based on caste is the cause for the present day social disparities. Those who are smart have got what they wanted despite difficulites and denial of equal opportunities. The solution to this problem is not in denying opportunites to the deserving but to improve the standards of primary and secondary education all over the country so that all get equal training at the lower level to compete on a level field . If that occurs and if 100% of the seats in the higher institutions are grabbed by lower castes, no one would and should cry.
