Mumbai Floods
by subbu on Jun 30, 2007 04:09 PM

Friends,
One best solution to bring down flooding in Mumbai is to go for rain harvesting. It should be made mandatory for all buildings to collect rain water and let it in well/Bore through simple sand/charcoal filter.By this you are benifited on many counts-reduction in flooding, increasing the water table, decreasing the salinity of water and indirectly substantial financial savings in terms of road repairs/road damages. In chennai after it was made amndatory in our area we are seeing the benefits ourselves. So let every mumbaite spend less on eating sweets and use that money for rain harvesting! It is good both ways!!
