The Country Requires a New Beginning
by Khandu Patel on Jun 25, 2007 04:45 AM

Gandhi hails from Italy which in her ancient past excelled in democracy and as a great power. Actual power then was exericised in Rome in its early history by the leadershi of its great aristocratic families. Those who chose a political career had to be adopted by the commonors before they could run for office. The plebians though they enjoyed universal suffrage, were allowed only the choice to accept or deny a motion but never to propose.

The proud boast of Bharat has been that it is the largest successful democracy in the world. This has displayed an ignorance of what democracy actually means. Even though Bharat by finally honed electronic means produced the Gandhi Government, itt little understood that the hanging chads which cheated the Democrats of victory is an example of true democracy. There has been non of the complaints from America about the silver spoon born Bush's fitness to occupy the great office by Al Gore another aristocrat.

Bharat's democracy has showed that the people have not shown a fitness to exercise it and the politicians to lead. Gandhi has nothing of the nobility as the episode over the Presidency shows. I am afraid that Bharat needs to start with a new leader and a new constitution. That is going to be Bharat's greatest test. The ones we have are beyond repair. When the Supreme Court as the final bastion falls to Gandhi, you good readers may finally get the message.
