Friend, I understand your point. But I must say you are missing some other things.
As a scintist he has done great job. And he can continue from the point where he left. But I do not think he becoming the president is waste. The amount of positive energy he brings in us when we see him as a president is unquestionable. For the first time in our lives we came to know that a president can be active and be a part of national development strategy. If he were just a scientist, people wouldn't have cared for his Vision2020. He travelled length and breadth of nation and met children as a president of India. This surely has helped young minds to see future as the one which belong to them. I don't think he could have done this by being a scientitst.
