Maybe Sanghvi was bit crude, but the bitter truth is during lalu's regime the provision for safety measures in the budget is miniscule if u take inflation into consideration. Also to increase profits without raising the fares, all sorts of rakes(bogies) are continuously in operation. The idea behind it was to leave all the dirty work of rebuilding to his successor in the railway ministry, unfortunately the first accident has occured and unless lalu realises his foolhardiness and thinks in terms of a good maintenance, many more such occurrences will happen. Hope some sense will prevail soon. Mariappan
