Temple entry raw
by gopalakrishnan velayudhan on Jun 06, 2007 12:31 PM

Readers,
In my opinion, India being secular and with diverse culture, every religion should have the freedom to conduct each one's rituals as per their basic dogmas and faiths and all religions should respect eachother. We should understand, there is only one God for the entire Universe, but the way each one apply to reach God differs. Identical believers of one faith make a religion and in this secular nation this has been the practice and our constitution provides necessary freedom and right to be part of any faith. However, liberalisation of entry even by law will disturb the social balance, whether it is of Hindu, Xstian or Muslims. So is it not better not to go to extreme end of liberalizing and socializing religious faiths and freedom of religious places.

The secret of secularism itself as I believe is the diverse beliefs and faiths which countervail eachother and it is very necessary to maintain this so undisturbed to maintain peace and harmony in the society. Any attempt from the part of Govt. or any section will hurt the feelings of th believers and there may social conflicts. But the fanatics and hard core believers should be ostracised.
