Is it discrimination
by Raja Chockalingam on Jun 07, 2007 06:10 PM

Two points:
Churches do treat non-christians differently. Non christians cannot receive communion. But they can attend services.
But this also about taking a common sense approach to things. The head tantri is hiding behind the age old i-didnt-set-the-rules-all-i-can-do-is-strictly-follow-it excuse that fundamentalists use all over the world. This completely literal approach to religious doctrines and customs is no less that the various brands of fundamentalism followed with other relegions. God has also given us the ability to think and be rational. That element -- the human element -- the element that should have taken the sentiments of individuals -- is sadly missing.
