No justice
by sunilkumar mishra on Aug 01, 2007 12:22 PM

This is horrendously weak instance of justice as the judge was under tremendous pressure for delivering an exempalry punishment on Sanjay to appease a particular section of the convicts who had been crying foul on the discrimination shown against them while announcing the verdict. When the judge himslef has clearly said in his judgement that the crimes committed by Dutt and his friends Adajania and Nulwalla were not "anti-social, ghastly, inhuman, immoral or pre-planned" and did not cause any harm to the general public and when these delinquents have been taken off from the TADA jurisdiction, there was no reason why Sanjay and his friends would be meted out such harsh punishment particularly when u know that they have conducted themselves so well in the last 14 years of your so called trials. 14 years is too long a time for any crime to stand trial of our system of justice. When your life imprisonment is only that much, this shows that your judgment against people like Sanjay, who have really suffered enough for the crime they have committed in the last 14 years of trial and so donot deserve the degree of punishment they have been handed out now. There was a clear case of treating the case under probation of offenders act. U have erred in your late justice and does not do great justice to our system of judiciary. sunil
