RE:whats the use?
by Rama Ganesh on Aug 16, 2007 04:08 PM

You are right, Varun. Most Paki missiles are bought off the shelf from Korea and they are mostly stolen property !!!! In contrast, the indian missiles are largely indeginous. Knowing as we do the quality of the Korean technology, it is anybody's guess how effective these missiles would be during real war time. However, I also agree that the concept of full-scale war has now been reduced to naught. With both countries armed with atomic weapons, only a mad-general in pakistan can trigger a nuclear war, which is unlikely. But the Indian atomic program is far superior, and I don't think we need to take the reports originating in the western media about the possible pakistani superiority seriously. The size of Pakistan should by itself act as a deterrent for the launching of a nuclear attack. One thermo-nuclear device would be enough to wipe out the whole of pakistan and the after effects would be catastrophic, both for Pakistan and India, and for the whole world. Only someone absolutely insane could think of the possibility of a India-Pak nuclear conflict.
