The nuclear option is hardly the silver bullet to our power problems. Don't even get started on the credibility of the nuclear "deterrent". Pure bull! If we nuke Lahore, do you think our people in Amritsar will get a front seat ticket (and no harm from the radioactive fallout??)? Naive!!
The media and the government have blacked out all good research relating to the value of the nuclear option, replacing it with the proverbial high-fives and chest-thumping.
To really understand why this nuclear deal is pure political drama (and much less tangible in terms of benefits for the nation), refer to the information found here, written by an excellent Indian scientist working for an Indian think-tank in Bangalore (just in case you think he's on payroll of the US).
