dificult question but I beg to differ with Mr. Prasad%u2019s total decrying of the deal. The fact remains that in spite of some progress made by our atomic scientists during the 'embargo' era, over the last three decades indian atomic programmes slumped if not stagnated and presently india%u2019s position is right at the bottom of the list of N-nations.I think the politicians have done their best they could given india's present N- standing. However I think the govt%u2019s defensive and selective briefing is creating doubts in the minds of the people. It looks as though it will not be able to defend the deal if it releases the full text. Once the IAEC has accepted the deal, the ball is in the scientists' court now to satisfy the nation and take on from here in deriving the maximum benefit out of it. posted by d. mohan
