would the indian parliament debate the nuke deal?
by Pradip Parekh on Jul 25, 2007 09:17 PM

for once, i would like to see the parliament debate seriously hte matters of national security, and this nuke deal is one such great issue of the day. if the hindus must boast india as the largest democracy, then the parliament must show that indian democracy has the maturity to debate skillfully such matters. however, i doubt most parliamentatrians are made of stuff that can debate this issue with any insight. most elected mps are a yes men, manipulators of system - imagine the prime minister, the home minster and many cabinet members too are an unelcted guys!!!!!!!!!.

the bjp too is lackluster in debating issue. often, it is not clear who these mute mps really represent.
