Sorry, but presidentship is NOT a reward for loyalty to the country. I am loyal to it but I will never be elected president because of this!
We need someone who will give India status within and outside the country. Someone with fresh thoughts, far vision and new ideals. I agree that a lady President is good, but will this lady work to better the situation of all the women in India who have no rights, no privileges? Will she really battle for women's equality in this world of discrimination? Will she step in to remind the government its duties when they tend to forget them? Will she bring prestige to India? IF she can be accountable for this then she is the right person.
