They were supposed to protect the local people, an honourable intention, but ended up supporting fascist views that harm their people most since other parts of India have less paranoid governments. If Shiv Sena is so good how come they have not been able to control the terrorist attacks even just in Mumbai? Why is the transport system so poor? You are labouring under a false illusion when you congratulate Patil for being first Maharashtrian president. This is not a Miss India contest. This is a public office that represents ALL of India, and whether we like it or not, Maharashtra is one SMALL part of this.
