Dr.Zakir Hussain and Mr.Fakruddin Ali could not complete their terms and died while in office. Dr.Kalam has revolutionised the Pesidency and made the people to know that there is a post of President of India and he can make some noise. Actually the entire nation should be allowed to select who the President should be and some powers should be reserved for him. No doubt the Constituion of India describes the Powers of the President but none of these can be exercised by him independently without peril to his Chair. The elected representatives who form the electoral college to elect the President do not reflect the true will of the people since they get elected on account of some more votes than other candidates in the fray. How does it reflect the majority of the electorate of Inida? Even in a Company where some resolutions are required three fourths majority of the Mmebrs of the Company is required. When that is the condition for a small business organisation how it can be ensured that the Electoral college consisits of three fourths of the electorate of the nation?
