Another cover up

In America's 'War on Terror', terms like 'truth', 'integrity', 'innocent' and 'human rights' etc. are strict taboo and have no meaning anymore. Rounding up people on mere suspicion and detaining them indefinitely without charge is perfectly acceptable. Who cares about the UN or the Geneva Conventions ? They are to be used only when it is in the West's interest.

Dr. Haneef is an 'accused' and remember that 'an accused is innocent until proven guilty'. If Dr. Haneef is indeed guilty, he should be tried and punished according to law. But detaining him only on the charge that he lent his SIM card to his cousin who was ultimately linked to the terrorist attack is ridiculous. It is like saying 'Mr. XYZ went to the grocer to buy vegetables and paid him a Rs. 100 note. The grocer, in turn, was linked to a terrorist attack. Since your Rs. 100 note was also used as part of financing this attack, you are also proclaimed guilty'. In fact, an Australian cabinet minister has only recently confirmed that one of the main reasons of going to war in Iraq was oil. So all those nice stories that were fed to us about Saddam Hussein's WMD's were only a smokescreen for other grandoise plans. I have lost all trust in the Bush/Blair system of 'gangland justice'. All this is so eeringly reminiscent of the dark times of the Nazi regime in Germany.

The so called 'War on Terror' has only increased terrorism worldwide rather than control it. Today's so called terrorists are all the by products of
